At Belle Vue Primary School we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff. We know that everyone can experience life challenges anyone of us may need additional emotional support.

At our school we:

  • help children understand their emotions and feel better
  • help children feel comfortable to share concerns or worries
  • help children socially to form and maintain relationships
  • promote self-esteem and ensure children know that they count
  • encourage children to be confident and to be themselves
  • help children to develop emotional resilience and to manage setbacks
  • We offer:

Universal support – to meet the needs of all our pupils through our overall ethos and wider curriculum

Additional support – for those who may have short term needs and those who may have been made vulnerable by life experiences, eg bereavement

Targeted support – for those who need more support such as 1:1 or small wellbeing groups

We have so far held two successful mental health weeks focusing on understanding our emotions and promoting positive mental health with visitors to the school and all staff supporting our pupils mental health
